There’s a rather more positive take possible if you assume that people will recognize replicas as what they are: not real people. They could help with honoring the dead, assist in education, provide advice and entertainment, even allow debates between deceased figures. I wrote about this a while back, called it Life After Death - as a Parrot. You can think of them as interactive books. We don’t ban the idea of books just because some books express nasty or vicious ideas.
